To make it clear how deeply science is interwoven with our lives, just try imagining a day without scientific progress. Just for starters, without modern science, there would be:
No electricity to use
No modern medicine
No modern agriculture etc
Scientific knowledge can improve the quality of life at many different levels — from the routine workings of our everyday lives to global issues. Science informs public policy and personal decisions on energy, conservation, agriculture, health, transportation, communication, defense, economics, leisure, and exploration. It’s almost impossible to overstate how many aspects of modern life are impacted by scientific knowledge.
A surprising contingent “believes” (cuz everything is essentially a belief in their universe), that life would be better off without modern electricity, medicine, and agriculture. We live in a world where % 0.001 of the population has enabled the rest to exist utterly mindlessly of how it all works. So mindlessly, that they have no idea of what it would be like without the benefits of modernity. Well, they wouldn’t exist without it, would they? The big problem is this ignorant post-modern majority determines policy. They legitimize obscene things like homeopathy. The list is endless. Basic science awareness is almost none existent. I’ll stop now.
